🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨 CITY OF TSHWANE CRACKS DOWN ON ALLEGED FRAUD SYNDICATE Tshwane has suspended several Finance Department officials implicated in an alleged fraud scheme involving over R1.5 million in suspicious refund transactions, uncovered by the City’s Forensic Unit. The scheme, dating back to May 2023, allegedly involved identifying municipal accounts with credit balances, passing the details to accomplices who submitted fraudulent refund claims, with the money redirected into a private bank account. Four officials and one member of the public appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on 4 March 2026. One former official failed to appear and a warrant of arrest has been issued. The administration remains firm on zero tolerance for corruption and committed to protecting public funds and holding wrongdoers accountable.
