Wanna know what's really going on here? Sure, they dress it up about wanting what's best for the tenants, but it's a ruse.
The communist says what the communist has to say to achieve their ends.
What they're really after is handing the building owner an almost impossible laundry list of things they'll have to do to get it up to code. The problem is that the costs associated with doing so make it essentially impossible, especially as the city is also pushing to freeze rent prices, thereby removing one means by which owners could pay for the updates.
This is intended to put as much financial strain on the situation as possible. It's all about the squeeze.
Then, using city capital, liens, or “public stewardship,” their goal is simply to acquire the buildings cheaply once owners are forced to sell.
Boom. Public ownership.
Oh, and it will fail. We know this because it always fails.

So Ive been a Costco member for about 15 years now, but never tried their hot dog, pizza, or chicken bake even though they are cheap as hell. $8 for all of this. My wife and I ate a couple bites and we threw it in the trash. I can see why its so cheap, it’s freaking disgusting! 2/10, wouldn’t recommend at all!
