@PowderBlueDrew I’m just going off what we know at this moment.. which is that they only have 5 picks… it takes two teams to trade back. It’s not a guarantee at all

@cmsinclair I’m well aware he doesn’t think he handled it poorly. No GM does… but he did, and if he takes a WR with injury concerns at 22 while only having 5 picks he’s an absolute idiot and should be fired that night

@DipaoloTim You may think he handled it poorly, not sure he thinks that. We’ll see how it plays out.

@cmsinclair Because he doesn’t have that luxury with how poorly he handled free agency and the limited amount of picks he has at his disposal. If Tyson would be the BPA Hortiz needs to trade out of that pick plain and simple. If he sticks at 22 at takes him he needs to be fired

@DipaoloTim Hortiz has stuck to his philosophies thus far in his tenure, so why would he stray away from his BPA philosophy?

@cmsinclair That would depend on who’s still available. Here’s the thing though.. when you fail to address things the way Hortiz did in FA and you only have 5 picks, you lose the luxury of drafting BPA. If he takes a receiver with injury concerns at 22 over DT, Edge, CB or G, he’s an idiot.

@PootieTaye @HailDeanThanos No one is asking them to spend “hella money.” The point is, the biggest problem this team has, hasn’t been fixed since this regime took over when it’s been shown it can be done very quickly. Justin Herbert is 27 years old, in year 6, and has 0 playoff wins. My patience is gone

@DipaoloTim @HailDeanThanos Yet those teams are in the same boat as us, haven’t won anything yet. I’ve seen teams make it far in the playoffs with bad OL play. This is a long offseason. Just bc you spend hella money in free agency doesn’t mean it’ll automatically translate to the field.

@nhlpens The Penguins did make the trade to improve their lineup… removing Tristan Jarry from their lineup was an improvement. It was addition by subtraction

@PootieTaye @HailDeanThanos No, people don’t have to be patient. Because the front office as it stands hasn’t done anything to improve the single biggest weakness on the team… and they’ve had years to do it. We’ve watched Chicago, Cleveland and Houston all do it the last 2 off seasons.

@PootieTaye @HailDeanThanos 2/2. This is year 3 of this regime and they have zero playoff wins to show for it. It isn’t taking other teams 3-5 years to do this.

@PootieTaye @HailDeanThanos 1/2. The Patriots just went from 4 wins to 14 wins and playing in the Super Bowl in the span of a year. The Broncos went from 8-9 two years ago to 14-3 this year and made the AFC Championship. It took the Seahawks 2 years under McDonald to win a Super Bowl

@PlentyDarius 2/2. Slater specifically is coming off a potential career altering injury. We aren’t satisfied because their only plan is banking on those guys being completely healthy all year and both guys playing at an elite level. They did nothing to protect themselves in case that fails.

But yall are not satisfied becuase they did not sign one of the old or injury prone guards? When they just can draft one (or 2) ? Am I getting this right?

I feel like context is being ignored or yall just on here wanting sign somebody. "Herbert was the most sacked QB in league" Yes, down 2 of best lineman in the NFL. They are both returning next season. Now you put a vey good center in the middle. 3 of your 5 lineman are very good

@PlentyDarius 1/2. They can’t draft 2, because they only have 5 picks and other holes to fill (because they haven’t spent the money elsewhere either. Also, those two tackles are coming off season ending injuries.

@dailey9108 @MarkMaddenX If Konnor Griffin is as good as everyone says he is, it makes no sense for him to tie himself to the Pirates long term

@MarkMaddenX You also thought Griffin would never play with Skenes. It makes a ton of sense for Griffin to only give up two years of FA to get some money early.

@DrotalkSD @PowderBlueEra Absolutely. It would at least help us make sense as to why the money that was saved by signing lower level linemen wasn’t used elsewhere. It would also signal that Harbaugh has changed his view on weapons and give Herbert the best receiver he’s had in his career

@hustinjerbert Yeah it means they have to trade him after June 1st in order to take on only $20 million in dead money instead of $40 million. So yeah he isn’t getting traded until after the draft so it would be ‘27 picks. Doesn’t matter though, the Chargers won’t be the team making that move.

@ChargerIsland @ChargersWin2026 First off… screw comp picks. He values them so much, yet couldn’t get any for this year. Second, no he didn’t because Elgton Jenkins was available and wouldn’t count against the comp pick formula.

@AzBobbyl @Nadsgonnadie @StevenIHaglund I don’t think they are interested in signing any receiver lol. I just think they will sign a corner on a 1 year deal and that’s probably it. Maybe an edge rusher

@DipaoloTim @Nadsgonnadie @StevenIHaglund Well, if Hortiz gives up that 4th round comp pick for Jennings, he should as well just be fired. Diggs for one year could give you some things Jennings can and you still keep your 4th.

In a vacuum, a ravens descendent GM pairing up with a Shanahan disciple OC and not spending free agent resources at guard is not surprising. The problem is this is a results based business and the Chargers interior offensive line is the primary reason they have been one and done in playoffs the last two years. Biadasz + the new scheme will likely result in better play overall but they definitely missed out on a real chance to nuke the problem this offseason and even let guys who wouldn’t count against the comp pick formula pass them by… Tough to keep giving the benefit of the doubt to a regime that has yet to deliver on any of their promises to fix the OL.

@AzBobbyl @Nadsgonnadie @StevenIHaglund I don’t really think they are interested in Jennings either. I think they are pretty much done in free agency (maybe 1 or 2 more 1 year deals) and they are onto the draft at this point.
