This is an Olivier Messiaen piano piece, "Regard de l'étoile", from his suite for solo piano "Vingt Regards sur l'enfant-Jésus" (1944). I orchestrated a small part of it for my orchestration class in university. Done in MuseScore 4. (Messiaen rocks)

@Tantacrul Intuitively, it looks like a part configuration window. I would guess that the instrument list on the left indicates which instruments you'd like to see in the part, and on the right you can further customize which elements exactly from those staves you'd like to be visible.

I guess I'll also add that the purpose of this is to study the scores and analyze the common tendencies and orchestral tactics employed. Then I'd use this information to work on a composition project I'll be doing at my university.

I'm also completely aware that most of these resources would be paid access. But it can be a full score or a study score. Just looking for guidance where to hit the ground running with this one. Thanks!

Hey fellow music composers and musicians alike! I am doing some research into an orchestration style and tendencies mostly prevalent in the 1940s orchestral film score music. Can anyone recommend me a good resource of getting access to these kinds of scores?

Thanks for coming out to celebrate the stream yesterday. The longest stream I've ever done, and arguably one of the funniest. We had ups and downs. We had 8 hours of pure speed. I almost gave up, lmao. But in the end, it's all fun. Now, onto my morning cup o' joe!!!!

My thoughts about the entire ESA discussion. I feel disappointed about how this is being handled, and my eyes were opened on many issues. This ESA will be my first and last. I will not be supporting any further ESA events going forward. Not until proper changes happen.
