Investigation finds BBC breached editorial standards in N-word slur at BAFTA Awards A FAST-TRACK investigation has found the broadcast of the N-word slur at the BAFTA Awards was a breach of the BBC’s editorial standards. The slur was not edited out of the televised broadcast and was shown two hours after the live ceremony in February. The corporation’s executive complaints unit (ECU) also recieved “a large number of complaints” about the BBC’s Baftas coverage, and upheld those complaints relating to editorial standards on harm and offence, the corporation reported.
