Obama: "The White House shouldn't be able to direct the AG to go around prosecuting whoever the president wants prosecuted. You can't have a situation where whoever is in charge of the government starts using that to go after their political enemies or reward their friends."

At a time when Illinoisans are paying surging prices at the pump due to the war with Iran. J B Pritzker who claims he is “Fighting for Illinois” could do the right thing and suspend Illinois’ Gas Tax just as the Republican Governor of Indiana has done, but he will not. Instead on July 1st Illinois motorists will see an increase in the gas tax when the tax will rise to 49.6 cents per gallon, the second highest gas tax in the nation. If that wasn’t bad enough Illinois applies a 6.25% sales tax calculated on the total price, including federal and state fuel taxes. This means that Illinoisans are paying a “tax on top of a tax”. Upon taking office in 2019 Pritzker doubled the gas tax and implemented annual automatic gas tax hikes tied to inflation, which means the gas tax rises automatically. Add to this the fact that property taxes have increased 27% since Pritzker took office and it’s easy to understand why he incessantly takes the discussion to Trump so as to divert attention away from what his failed policies are costing the citizens of Illinois.
