"We all really enjoyed it. Its greatest achievement is that it’s an actual family movie. Not too babyish for adults and not too grown up for the kids. Reminds me of the PG movies they used to make all the time in the 80s and 90s. Very much a spiritual descendent of ET. Maybe Hollywood will take the hint and start making real family films again."

I know we talk about box office way too much here, but seeing PHM's weekend projections go up and up is such a great sign for the industry. It means word of mouth is great and people are telling their friends to go to the theater and see this.

I’m sure PROJECT HAIL MARY is great, and this is not the movie’s fault… But I’m gonna need Ryan Gosling to take on more challenging roles soon. Seeing one of the greatest leading actors of my generation kind of coast for the past 10 years has been, frankly, disheartening.

i liked project hail mary but it really feels like you’re not allowed to critique stuff anymore without being seen as pretentious or a hater. straight up anti-intellectual to be that resistant to differing opinions movies are meant to be discussed not just endlessly praised

It is a perfect movie. I’m not saying it’s the best movie ever, but I did not leave it thinking there was something I would do different. It’s incredible. The sampling/fishing scene is an all time etched in your brain scene

My only problem with PHM is that Ryan Gosling committed the cardinal sin when using a microcentrifuge (or any centrifuge for that matter)

Not everything is about politics, and just let stubborn government leaders duke it out, it's not like Ontario and Manitoba is on friendly terms either after a Whiskey kerfuffle involving Crown Royal. The USA and Canada is just facing a temporary disagreement over long term dumb trade terms on both sides. I (who voted for Trump 3x) want free and tariff-free trade both ways on everything and eventually free movement between Canada and the USA (so the border security is gone for good between both countrues) when both countries can agree on a common immigration system.
