The best thing to do right now is to stop giving Orban oxygen and feeding his domestic propaganda. There is nothing that will calm his scandalous demands or put an end to his endless escapades against Ukraine. Because this isn’t about any serious or real problems. It’s about the cynical search for an “external enemy” to shore up very shaky electoral prospects, and about trying to provoke a large-scale conflict and crisis in order to cling to slipping power. Orban and his propaganda machine obviously don’t need any excuses for new attacks against Ukraine. But that doesn’t mean anyone should help him with these public beefs from Zelensky, even though, of course, this purposefully outrageous behavior has long since fed everyone up to a critical point. We’ll see in mid-April what Hungarian voters think about all this, and what kind of future they themselves choose.

Yesterday in Davos, President @ZelenskyyUa crossed a line. There is nothing new in the fact that, as elections approach in Hungary, he once again placed the Hungarian government, and me personally, in his sights. What was surprising, however, was that in his speech he also criticised every other European leader. He says the support sent to Ukraine is insufficient, the weapons are insufficient, and Europe’s determination is insufficient. We did not have to wait long for the response from Brussels. Last night, @vonderleyen presented a roadmap for Ukraine’s development. In it, the Brusselians accepted every Ukrainian demand. $800 billion for Ukraine, accelerated EU accession by 2027, and further support all the way until 2040. This is where things stand. President Zelenskyy has things all backwards, yet the Brusselians are eager to pay up. We will have a few words to say about this as well. A national petition is coming, through which we can send a clear message to Brussels: we will not pay!
