R.I.P. Tatsuya Nakadai (1932-2025) 仲代 達矢 No actor past/present could ever come close to his talent, range, acting, aura. Not many could outshine Toshiro Mifune in a scene; But Nakadai did it regularly. He was an acting beast. He acted in the films of almost all the great filmmakers in Japan- Kobayashi, Kurosawa, Kinoshita, Ichikawa, Okamoto, Naruse, etc. but the one filmmaker other than Kobayashi who got the maximum out of Nakadai was Hideo Gosha. Their collaboration is one of the greatest of all time. One thing I like the most about him other than his acting was his unique laugh. It conveyed the message which words could never. I feel this scene from 'Goyokin' (1969, Gosha) would be the most fitting scene to post now after his death. Heaven would be lucky to have you!!! Long live his fame & legacy!!!
