Disability Divest Statement on the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act 1/2

We dove into where some of that money comes from: weapons manufacturers, apartheid profiteers, major polluters, and child labor exploiters. We once again call on Disability:IN and other disability organizations to divest from mass disablement and genocide. 4/4

Their decision is no surprise, because Disability:IN gets a lot of money through their relationships these harmful companies. They received over $9.3 million in conference sponsorships alone for 2025. 3/4

Last year, we called on Disability:IN to cut their ties with war profiteers and stop recognizing weapons manufacturers as "best places to work for disability inclusion." 1/4

Disability:IN’s Disability Index will be released on Monday. Historically, this index has awarded weapons manufacturers and war profiteers for “disability inclusion” while ignoring these companies roles in disabling, killing, and displacing people in Palestine & the Global South.

Disability Divest rejects any plan from the U.S. administration to take the Gaza Strip, expel Palestinians from their land, and rebuild it for colonizers. This is the definition of settler colonization, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. Gaza is not for sale.
