@Farnhamite @FootballInT80s I was 14 - the right sort of age to say that tournament was one of the best ever - and after watching most of it, I can only count the number of great games on the fingers of one hand.

08/06/1996: The start of Euro 96. What a fantastic tournament and summer that was. Hosts England kicked it off against Switzerland. Things of note: Star striker Alan Shearer, without an England goal for nearly two years, scored to set himself up for a great Championship. Gary Neville was pinging shots in from 30 yards out. Gazza looked ready for something big. His touches and flicks looked great, and his confidence was high. Portugal’s coach, Artur Jorge, had a fantastic moustache-and-hair combo. Ultimately, though, the game finished 1-1 and the dream of a famous summer still felt a long way off.

@Farnhamite @FootballInT80s The goal per game average for Euro 96 was 2.06 - lower than Italia 90. Like Italia 90, Euro 96 was great from a cultural point of view, but poor when it came to the actual football.

@FootballInT80s Stadiums were empty and the football was dire for the most part. Similarly to Italia 90 this is a tournament with an inflated reputation in England compared to outside the country. One of the worst European Championships.

Yes, this. When someone like Ian Watkins is killed in prison, the people celebrating forget that the perpetrators are almost always guilty of violent crimes, and have probably ruined - or ended - innocent lives themselves. Mob justice is no justice at all. x.com/SecondInternat…

It's rational to be wary of any sort of vigilantism. Even the actual police sometimes go after the wrong person, so random guys online, operating with zero oversight, are all but guaranteed to unjustly ruin someone's life, sooner or later. Then there's the whole entrapment issue.

Hi @RupertLowe10 - may I ask you directly, ‘Do you think Jews run the world?’ I don’t think you do. Wealthy people are usually connected and savvy enough from their perch to accurately observe the flows of money and influence about them. Of course what I’m really trying to achieve is an answer to the question of your character. Equivocating or providing a non-answer would illustrate your fear of upsetting a large part of your fanbase who are racist and very much do believe Jews run the world. It would indicate how you actually want or need them as part of your project. (and assuming they’re reading this, ‘Hi you moronic pricks!’) On the other hand, clearly saying “No” would massively anger them and they’d all start going on about how the Jews got to you or you’re an agent or some other mentalist bollocks. Surely a small price to pay to be rid of such a toxic albatross, and it’d show you to be an individual of substance and integrity. As such I think @elonmusk would answer this question in a heartbeat, so why wouldn’t you. Anyway, do you think Jews run the world? Thanks!
