@TheoryWiseOS they got rid of mtx in rs3 for 0 reason (won’t bring in new players and actually made the game worse for a lot of current players) so now we have to pay the price. i hope you’re getting paid to be shilling like this otherwise it’s just deeply embarrassing.

The interesting/sad thing about watching the Runescape players melt down over needing to pay $15 a month for the game is not that they're upset over a price hike, that is relatively normal... But just how faith the comparisons to other MMOs become just to service that outrage. Runescape is the only popular MMO on earth that isn't suffocated by a vicious cash shop, and yet people act as though sustaining that doesn't obviously come with its own issues (such as monthly prices increasing).

You guys can complain all you want about this, but have any of you even taken a look at the rest of the gaming industry right now? Us RuneScape players ARE the greener grass on the other side. The fact that we have a game that receives such great content updates so frequently with this level of monetization is really incredible.

I agree. After visiting Russia, you really start to appreciate where you live. For example, a comparison of a residential street in Srokowo, Poland and Zheleznodorozhny, Russia. Taken the same year, 2024. 20 km from one another. Srokowo is in the poorest region of Poland.

@empyriangaming ruining breach as a mechanic in maps is one thing, but genesis tree is hella egregious to keep

First time they downgraded a mechanic in my opinion. Maybe I’m just nostalgic for old breach but 2 out of the 3 breach outcomes are just not great. The game has plenty of content, I don’t have to like every mechanic, but this is the first flop of a purple league in my book.

rs3 has 30,000 people on right now and its 6 hours before peak playing hours That is a significant improvement in the last 8 months on a random sunday. Looking pretty promising if it continues. you will see people throwing fits because they're using successful concepts from OSRS but whatever. some of it's players want it to fail before sharing it with new players.
