@SkyNewsAust I guess there were people who were disappointed that their elderly relatives didn't die so they weren't able to get an early inheritance.

One of Australia's leading infectious diseases experts who was a senior medical official during COVID pandemic has called for an apology over vaccine mandates in order to rebuild trust in immunisations.

@GuillermElodie I think they thought that EU countries wouldn't be allowed to fish in UK waters but there would be no impact on their ability to export to the EU. There were lies about how leaving the EU didn't mean leaving the single market.
English

@brianstelter @jonsopel Because Trump is just being used. If he wins he'll be pushed out and then it's Musk, Thiel, Murdoch and Putin in charge with Vance doing their bidding.
English

@SkyNewsAust Embarrassing is having a foreign head of state who has a free holiday in Australia every 10 or so years.
English

A legal expert has offered Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe some lessons on the law after her “embarrassing” remarks directed at King Charles III, which “prove” some MPs need a “refresher course” in civics and citizenship.

@anon_opin I've always loved listening to @RadioX on Sunday mornings for the comedians.
English

@TPGRoberts It's just a graduate tax that has been implemented in such a way that wealthy MPs and donors can avoid paying it (that is people who can afford to pay for their children's fees upfront).
English

@speakoutsister If as they now claim, it's your
chromosomes that determine your gender not genitals, do they think female babies should have a test to determine their gender? Or just a requirement to play sport? "Sorry Sally you can't play primary school netball until I know your chromosomes".
English

Just going to repeat this for the benefit of certain people. If you have XY chromosomes and your birth certificate says female you are legally female. You are not male/a man and anyone calling you a man is wrong.

@Midge1415 They look too young to remember what happened in 2011 in London. Just because no one stops you from walking out of the door with stolen goods doesn't make it legal. They were found & convicted. Especially the ones with their entire faces on show holding their stolen goods.
English

@seamusmateus @newscomauHQ No it isn't. It's due to drunk violent racists.
English

@newscomauHQ This is the result of two tier policing.
White working class people are constantly undermined by society and when they express their concerns, the state takes a heavy hand against them.
Australia is barrelling towards the same dystopia as the UK.
English

There are horrifying scenes in three cities in the UK where a police station has erupted into flames after rioters torched cars and hurled barrels at cops. news.com.au/world/europe/t…

@IrradiatedMouse It also means kids who are sick get sent to school and pass their illness around the school. My son's school say "it's amazing how they perk up once they get to school". I want the sick kids to stay home, they will get better quicker and fewer kids will get sick overall.

@mrjamesob @OhGodWhatNowPod I've been stuck in A&E for 6 hours. I'm worried I'm going to run out of time to vote to help fix this exact problem!
English

Feeling oddly muted & trepidatious, which is unfortunate because I’m on stage with the @OhGodWhatNowPod crew in about an hour. Somehow can’t quite believe that the scale of it all will reflect the polls too closely.
(Also, please go & vote if you haven’t already.)

@edwinhayward I love how he admits that Labour will be more competent than the Tories.
English

Normally, I'd say "never read the Telegraph".
But I'll make an exception here, and advise you to do the same.
I've linked to an archive version of the article so that the Telegraph will NOT profit from ad revenue if you view it.

@rolandmcs And that is how he will lose to the Tories in the future when the Tories realise that offering another referendum would be popular.
English

"Britain will not rejoin EU in my lifetime, says Starmer"
Starmer now out-Starmering himself on the EU.
theguardian.com/politics/artic…
English

@mrjamesob I think it will be the Tories who take us back in. Once the pro Brexit idiots are out of the party & the percentage of the population who wants to rejoin keeps increasing, this Starmer red line will lose Labour an election if the Tories put another referendum in their manifesto.
English

@RishiSunak I assume this is part of a plan to abolish national insurance tax followed by introducing a means tested state pension. As you'll be breaking the link between this specific tax and getting the state pension.
English

@RishiSunak I'm happy to pay taxes if they are used to improve public services like being able to see a doctor and children not sitting in classrooms where the ceiling might fall on them. The Tories put up taxes and gave the money to people like Michelle Mone.
English

@SarahVaci @orlafee1 I am a woman (I was born female) and I'm sure you are actually aware and are pretending not to know that GC women are a small subset of women, just like trans women are a small subset of women. So yes GC women are a minority group. The majority of women are not transphobic.
