Writing this post is overdue. I have known @rogerkver for years. We worked together at bitcoin.com. I was there at the beginning of the project. During that time, I got to know Roger on a deeper level. I knew he was a diehard advocate of Bitcoin, liberty, and truth. What I didn't know at the time was that he was an authentically good person. Like any other maverick, he had his idiosyncracies and passions. But he was and still is the kind of guy who would do whatever was necessary to support the voluntaryist movement and kickstart crypto projects. He defended freedom, invested in many companies, and donated money to those who needed it. My time at the company eventually ended, but I never stopped believing in Roger. I knew he would continue pushing forward to uphold truth and vouch for untrammelled sovereignty. His steadfast dedication to the cause likely made him an early target for government thugs. He had already upset the powers that be for something as trivial as selling fireworks across state lines, for which he spent time in federal prison. In other words, he was already a marked man. After the fallout of the Bitcoin scaling wars, Roger wrote the book Hijacking Bitcoin, exposing the truth that Bitcoin became a controlled opposition network. He exquisitely detailed how the government infiltrated the movement, turning Bitcoin into a slow, ossified, commercialized bait coin. This impetus likely incited the ire of Washington bureaucrats, causing them to zealously pursue dubious tax fraud charges against him while breaking attorney-client privilege. Now, it is time to repay Roger for his contributions to the crypto and freedom movement. Please repost this post, sign the petition, and rally the troops to get the charges against Roger dropped.
