It is unwise to be competing with who you should be learning from. When you compete instead of learn, you miss the wisdom, experience, and insights that could accelerate your growth. Be humble and learn!

Someone asked me how I was able to make my first $1000 as a Brand Designer and Strategist, I had to answer sincerely; I didn’t just give the generic answers of pick a skill, show up etc I went into depth and this was exactly what I shared; Might be long but don’t let short attention span rob you off value.. The truth is; > One thing that changed my life as a designer was the moment I stopped seeing design as just a skill… and started seeing it as a business. > A lot of creatives know how to design, but very few know how to build systems around their creativity. Instead of only talking colors, fonts and aesthetics, I started learning business, strategy, positioning, communication and marketing. Fact is clients are not always paying for design, they are paying for perception, clarity, trust and growth. > I learned to treat my craft like an actual company. Create business plans, structure your brand properly, separate your personal money from your business money, pay yourself salary, reinvest into your business, buy better gadgets, pay for knowledge, build systems that can be repeated. That mindset alone changes everything. I built structures for retainer models, ad ons and other revenue road paths for my bussiness. > Another thing that helped me massively was documentation and structure. Proposal templates, invoices, receipts, contracts, project process documents, proper rate cards… all these things make people take you seriously. Perception matters more than many creatives realize. > Also, don’t limit yourself to only designer communities. Be in rooms with entrepreneurs, founders, sales people and business owners. Sit where bigger conversations are happening. Sometimes one business conversation can change your mindset more than 100 design tutorials. > Then content and visibility… very important. Learn marketing. Learn storytelling. Learn how to communicate your value online. Don’t wait for clients to magically find you. Use multiple fishing strategies; content creation, cold emails, DMs, freelancing platforms, networking, strategic volunteering, referrals… keep pushing till one opens massively. > And lastly, Confidence and communication. Even when money is not coming yet, don’t carry defeat mentally. Money does not move towards pity. Value for value. Learn to speak confidently, present yourself properly and relate well with people. At the end of the day, money flows in the direction of strategy… not vibes, luck or wishful thinking {Read that twice} .. On screen is the next case study I’m gonna be introducing so stay tuned.🔥 If you haven’t registered for freelancersos, these amount of value and more are kinds that will come there! Hmm don’t be left behind, check Coments to get a ticket. .. You are welcome!!
