UPDATE: Cooper did go speak to PM this eve - as did Mahmood & Healey. But I’m told Cooper did not urge PM to set out timetable - what she did discuss, she is keeping private. I understand there is frustration among some Cabinet ministers at what they see as the misrepresentation of their private conversations with PM - it’s been a very fraught day, with a possible cabinet showdown in the morning
Beth Rigby@BethRigby

NEW: Where is No 10 at tonight? Tune into @skynews now. PM and team trying to understand where party at to try to form a view - Shabana Mahmood and Yvette Copper telling Starmer they want him to set out a timetable - Other cabinet ministers - Steve Reed and Pat McFadden - saying the PM should fight on - David Lammy and Jonathan Reynolds have been by the PM's side in No 10 tonight weighing up the options about what the PM should do. Am told Lammy doesn't want the PM to stand down. One cabinet minister laments to me that what is happening is disorderly. "I think Labour Party that is about to put itself out of power for serious period of time by repeating the mistakes of the Tories And Keir Starmer? I am told that tonight, ahead of a cabinet meeting om Tues, he's weighing up his options

Another Labour MP - Luke Myer - has gone public calling for Starmer to quit, bringing the total so far to 49. Myer says: “I listened carefully to the Prime Minister’s speech today. I think history will see him as a decent man, but we have to be honest that his leadership is not working. A change is needed.”

BREAKING via @BBCBenWright Catherine West is not standing for the leadership but she calls for an "orderly transition" by September "I have listened to the Prime Minister's speech this morning. I welcome the renewed energy and ideas. However, I have reluctantly concluded that this morning’s speech was too little too late. "The results last Thursday show that the Prime Minister has failed to inspire hope. "What is best for the party and country now is for an orderly transition. "I am hereby giving notice to No10 that I am collecting names of Labour MPs to call on the Prime Minister to set a timetable for the election of a new leader in September. "I want to thank everyone who has been in contact over the weekend to offer good wishes. We need our best top team in place to fight the next election. We owe working people up and down the country nothing less."
