Thanks for tagging me. I will give you the long answer. I’ll start with the official reason as to why such celebration took place despite loss in state by-polls. The BJP is a national party, the common thread across state orgs is seen not just in celebration but in work and camaraderie. Karyakartas across states are deputed to work on elections in other states. There exists genuine emotional investment in the wins and losses (in this particular cases in death as well) of Karyakartas of other states. So this celebration was like it is when we will in any other state. Now, should it have happened after we lost the by-polls? Possibly a bit tone deaf but do understand that this has always been the practice when other states win, therefore routine and not well thought through. There was a press conference just before this celebration to reflect on the loss and update on the gains. We did better than anticipated in Davangere - and we have much to be proud of our candidate. But yes, we lost. By polls tend to go in favor of sitting governments. But the fact still remains, we lost and need to ensure we gear up for the next 2 years. I hope you see this gives you a sense of the thought process behind what happens. I want to address many such concerns that a lot of people voiced about BJP Karnataka - all in good time, I am also finding my step.

Have said it once, i will say it again! Who i was born to wasn’t my choice, thankfully I was born to parents that are beyond great. Leadership is feeling empathetic towards another person’s struggles and enabling growth beyond barriers & that’s what my parents & teachers have taught me. I want to live till the day, we stop talking about lineage or caste 🙏

Notice how BJP has dropped the NCR & CAA noises. The objective was the same, to win elections. They have realized SIR is much simpler to implement, way more opaque and impossible to challenge.
