Why didn’t Viserys marry Daenerys, like Targaryens were known for? Because he never really saw her as a sister. She was something he could use. That whole incest tradition only worked when the Targaryens were untouchable. When they had dragons and armies. Viserys wasn’t thinking about legacy or keeping the bloodline pure. He was desperately in need of an army. And Daenerys was the only thing he had left to bargain with So he made the trade.

It shows up once, yet gets repeated like it’s fact, pushing the idea that Targaryens are inherently mad. But look at the names everyone brings up. Maegor. Aerys II. Rhaenyra. Now look closer. Maegor was forged in conquest and constant rebellion. Aerys was tortured, humiliated, then isolated with absolute power. Rhaenyra watched her claim stolen, her family torn apart, and a war spiral beyond control. Add the dreams? visions that blur prophecy and paranoia and try ruling with that in your head. Now ask yourself: Put any other house on that throne long enough, would it end differently? Because the problem was never just the Targaryens. It was the throne. So maybe the coin was never about madness and greatness but perspective.
