@exfootballfan Lol it's insane you've lost it because of a pre season goal. Lad was relegated twice and spurs overpaid for him.

Spurs have a better manager than us, better stadium and now better squad even after barely avoiding relegation last season. But our fans will lap up everything INEOS do.

@sidlowe No I actually think England develops elite technical talent these days it's just a shame Tuchel didn't trust more of it.

Lots of you mentioning the way semi finals played out, Tuchel’s tactics, the repetition of leading and then losing etc… I agree with all that, yes, and a final was genuinely there this time. By castrophic I mean the deeper thing, this kind of discourse that there’s something really wrong with English football. I don’t think there is.

I’m a bit baffled by the catastrophic analyses of England after World Cup. That’s two semi finals in the last three and two Euros finals in a row. We do realize that only one team can win, right?

@IrishUnity Interesting you think the small island next to the bigger country should be ruled by them just because of proximity irregarless of the will of the people

@MattKL1980 Again he had a few moments - but whole team there was too much running around not enough guile and genuine ability. pretty poor squad tbh . Rice wasn't fit , Anderson - the new Calvin Phillips - we didn't really have a midfielder with a decent pass in him.

Bigger issues - A manager who chooses Jordan Henderson over Adam Wharton Eze over Carlton Palmer Spence ahead of Luke Shaw . Footballing identity - meaningless bollocks spouted by Tuchel fan boys ..like you. You desperately wanted him at United 🤣🤣🤣
Tom McDermott@MrTomMcDermott

Two bigger issues for the England team. 1). We don’t keep hold of the ball well enough 2). We don’t have a footballing identity I feel like as a nation, we are always copying others.

@sport_simon We left our best possession players at home or on the bench. But regardless of that the way to work around that is not get rid of any counter attacking threat at all. We didn't need to boss possession we needed to keep Argentina scared

Remember talking to Tord Grip (Sven-Goran Eriksson’s assistant) about this. They’d played a possession style at Lazio, but had Veron, Nedved, Almeyda etc. They looked at profile of England players and decided defending quite deep and counter attacking was best strategy.

🚨 BREAKING: Thomas Tuchel speaking via Sky after England's World Cup exit: 🗣️ "Ball possession is maybe not in our English DNA like it is in Spanish or Argentinian-Brazilian DNA." 🗣️ "No structure in the world could have helped us." 🗣️ "We just struggled." 🗣️ "I'm 100% committed." 🗣️ "There is still enough to improve." 🗣️ "I still think we can win a major tournament."

@DougieCritchley He failed on the biggest stage at the one thing he was brought in to do. It doesn't matter who comes in you simply can't stay after that. Especially now he's blaming the players.

Now all the “sack Tuchel” brigade have had a big sleep… Can you please suggest 3 candidates to me that are; firstly realistic and a clear upgrade on Tuchel? I get the frustration, I really do. But our desire to scapegoat ONE element of any tournament exit… nuts.

Hard to see it now, but England is living a golden era and learning to compete on the hardest of games Today they needed more bravery, this word Tuchel has used so often, from the manager Protecting a lead so early should be put down to Tuchel But they are so close. Maybe it wasn't all down to Southgate after all! (It isn't), There is a lack of controlling midfielders (or lack of trust in them) By the way, this confidence pre game came from a wrong reading of what Argentina is about. That should be another lesson for the future

@SaintsParody @SebOnFootball England men and women's teams have reached at least the semi finals of every competition except one since 2018. The one they missed was to finalists. England is more than capable of winning trophies. The game is on Tuchel.

Sack Tuchel then what. Another manager comes in and we the exact same thing? I don’t care if he stays or goes to be honest but it seems to be whatever gaffer is there it’s the same mentality, so tired and bored of going into our pathetic shells

@SaintsParody @SebOnFootball The tactical setup and instructions are on Tuchel and they were clearly to sit deep and give up possession. You think these players weren't capable of keeping possession?

Missing my point entirely. Courage in possession is up to the players. You can’t say ahh because we change to 5 at the back we weren’t capable of having any control in the game. Players weren’t good enough today. Yes Tuchel tactically went to defensive too early but typical England fans putting all the blame on the manager and not the players. Losing to Argentina 2-1 isnt a complete tactical disaster from Tuchel either.

Genuinely believe Thomas Tuchel has done enough in this tournament to deserve the next Euros… …but we got what we deserved there. Far too negative at 1-0. Huge opportunity missed against an average Argentina side.

@SebOnFootball English manager. If we're gonna lose then we lose as it should be. Southgate our best manager since winning the trophy. Tiny margins from winning. Selling our soul to a German who does the same thing. What's the point in that? No better than Sven or capello

@SebOnFootball 100%, Tuchel being used as the scapegoat but this lack of control started before the formation change, it was inevitable. Too many big players didn’t turn up tonight.

@The_Forty_Four If you believe any of that you're insane. Tuchel won the games Southgate would have won and lost in exactly a Southgate way. He cost us a place in the world cup final tonight he simply must go.

Stop this overreaction on Tuchel… I love Southgate for what he did for us but We would’ve never got past Mexico with Southgate. Tuchel will win us a trophy and I fully believe that
