A very strong showing by DCP! For a party that is barely a year old, and one they branded as a Wamunyoro/Kikuyu party to garner that many votes in Kalenjin land is very telling. As things stand, Ruto does not have any region or community under lock and key. Even parts of Kalenjin land appear shaky. If you doubt this, then explain how and why a candidate vying on a DCP ticket managed to garner more than 10,000 votes against 17,000 in Emurua Dikirr, a predominantly Kipsigis constituency. Ruto spent over kshs 50 million in Emurua Dikirr, his hometown, forced the Widow of Ng’engo to cut off her mourning and go crying for sympathy for UDA’s aspirant , but still the best Ruto is pulling is 60% of the votes. It looks like 2027, Ruto will be defeated by a lot.

The DCP candidate has crossed the 10,000 votes. Iam sure Riggy G was not expecting to win this, but he wanted to weigh how William's bedroom treats him. It was a race between William and Gachagua not Vincent Vs Dollar. Politics is about perception, leo Gachagua atalala na viatu. He didn't win the seat but he exceeded expectations on how the people of South Rift perceive him. DCP getting 10k is a big loss to UDA. The ruling party should be worried.
