American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, @JeffreyGoldberg. theatlantic.com/politics/archi…

@BrianFlanagan1 @FranceskAlbs #8: this goes deep into the foundations of rté. you'll find that Irish would-be TV professionals spent intern periods in the then fashionable state of Israel. definitely needs investigating.

It was inexcusable treatment by #rtebias. To make amends, here are possible actions by Ireland (& other countries) in response to Gaza crisis: Started/Done: 1) Recognise State of Palestine - Done 2) Closure of Israeli embassy - Done 3) Palestinian embassy opens - Done 4) Intervene in SA case at @CIJ_ICJ - Done 5) Support @IntCrimCourt arrest orders - Done To Do: 7) Pass the Occupied T Bill 8) Hold inquiry into @RTE's Israeli bias 9) Stop over flights of military stuff to Israel 10) Refuse entry to Israeli serving & ex-soldiers 11) Stop CB facilitating Israeli bond sales 12) Seek global arms embargo against Israel 13) Support local/int'l consumer boycotts 14) Suspend IRL-Israel trade 15) Push for rescind of EUIAA 16) Support removal of Israel from UN 17) Push for UNGA-led global #BDS Ongoing: Seek lasting ceasefire and peace in ME including release of all hostages/prisoners.

First time I quit a studio literally in search of oxygen, surprised to debate on what "the IDF says" or what "The American Jewish Committee thinks" IN IRELAND! My friends: Israel has killed 20,000 children in 16months. NO EU gvt has cut ties with Israel yet, including Ireland. This is what we must discuss.

🚨 NEW: President Zelensky says Sen. Lindsey Graham can move to Ukraine and gain citizenship if he wants his resignation call to carry "weight": Reporter: "Senator Lindsey Graham said that perhaps you should consider resigning..." Zelensky: "I can give him the citizenship of Ukraine. He will become a citizen of our country, and then his voice will gain weight." "And I will hear him as a citizen of Ukraine on the topic of who must be the president." 🔥 🔥 🔥

The head of the BBC claims he's been highly transparent around the decision to withdraw "Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone". An MP asks him who made the complaints about the documentary. He says "different people & various organisations" but tellingly he doesn't identify them.

That full Zelensky-Vance-Trump convo will be analyzed and dissected to no end in International Relations 101 classes for aspiring diplomats as a classic example of what NOT to do. Eastern Europeans sound pretty rude to the Anglo world. Part of it is an artifact of their language(s). Part of it is just the handicap of using English as a second language and not picking up the complexities of slang and tone. Moral of the story: for high stakes negotiations, hire an interpreter, even if you think your English is good enough. Also they are trained to make sure to not convey the emotional content of the message and by slowing down the back-and-forth, it tends to be a natural brake on escalation.

@EmmaCDeSouza Still no voting rights of any kind for Irish living outside Ireland. There was talk of an Irish Diaspora seat in the Seanad. That has gone absolutely nowhere. Agree NI Irish urgently need representation & votes. How though?

As an Irish citizen in the North, I can run for President, but I can't vote for the President. Disappointed that not only did FG-FF not bring forward the referendum to extend the franchise, but both have dropped the commitment entirely. irishtimes.com/politics/2025/…

Great to see Humza speak tonight. He was deeply persuasive, arguing on the side of humanity and effectively dismantled Gove's arguments. Though he's not re-standing I hope he remains in some form of capacity in politics as he is second to none at arguing for those without a voice
Humza Yousaf@HumzaYousaf

I had the opportunity to challenge Michael Gove for his grotesque suggestion that the IDF be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. The same IDF that killed two year old Laila Al-Khatib on Saturday. War criminals don't deserve a peace prize, they deserve to be tried in the Hague.

🚨 We’re sad to announce that #StormÉowyn has caused severe damage across our Gardens. At #Edinburgh, 15 trees have been lost – either uprooted or damaged beyond recovery. This includes the Garden’s tallest tree, the 29-metre Cedrus deodara, planted in 1859 👇

@MahmoudMassri15 Sorrow, that the people of Gaza have suffered so much. Fear, that their oppressors won't be held in check. Scepticism that the international community will see this through (although our civilization depends on this peace, truly).

When you heard the news of the ceasefire in Gaza, what was the first feeling that came to you, honestly? Was it a mix of joy and hope or sadness for what we lost? Share your thoughts with us.
