The 9th Africa Population conference will help build the capacity of the next generation of population and development experts, through workshops, training sessions, and engagement with young researchers. Said the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs during the Presser.

The ‘Mtukula Pakhomo wa M’mizinda’, is part of the Social Support for Resilient Livelihood Project ‘Tidzidalire’, with Support from Malawi Social Protection Multi Donor Trust Fund (World Bank, USAID, Iceland, Norway, Ireland, EU and UK FCDO).

The intervention is expected to help the urban poor by alleviating immediate economic hardships, enabling them to meet basic food consumption and nutrition needs and reduce negative coping behavior.

This Price Shock Urban Emergency Cash Transfer Programme targets 105,000 households in the Cities of Zomba, Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu. Each targeted household will receive a once-off transfer value of MK150,000.00.
