What's notable about the Trump victory is that it happened despite biased Legacy Media coverage. New Media, like 𝕏 and podcasts, helped circumvent the narrative gatekeepers so people could hear the other side. I'm not sure if this outcome would have been possible otherwise.

The DOJ cited their policy that presidents can't be prosecuted however it was assumed they would work up until the "last day." "What's interesting here is that the DOJ is moving to end them even before he takes office, citing the longstanding DOJ policy that sitting presidents can't be prosecuted." "And there were some thought that maybe special counsel Jack Smith was going to sprint through the finish line, was going to work up until the last day, force Trump to fire him, wait till a new Attorney General was appointed." "But that does not appear to be the thinking inside the department. The thinking is that these cases can't go forward."

In 2016, there was no peaceful transition of power. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic Party weaponized the FBI, DOJ, and the legacy media to frame Donald Trump as a Russian agent. They lied to a FISA court multiple times to secure wiretaps and surveillance on Trump and his team. For years, federal agency heads fed disinformation to the media to undermine the duly elected president—the first populist outsider in recent history. The same media that dismissed Hunter Biden’s laptop as Russian disinformation, perpetuated the “very fine people” hoax, and portrayed Joe Biden as “sharp as a tack” also lied to the public about the integrity of the 2020 election. Russiagate, along with disinformation campaigns and social media censorship from the left, fueled widespread distrust and deep frustration with our institutions, ultimately leading to the events of January 6th. Meanwhile, the left supported BLM protests that caused billions in damages across American cities, yet continues to focus on January 6th because they are obsessed with smearing President Trump and his supporters while projecting moral superiority. For Trump supporters, who now represent the majority of the country, there was no peaceful transfer of power in 2016. Russiagate was always seen as the real insurrection—a coordinated attempt by the Washington establishment, unelected bureaucrats, and national institutions to overthrow the American people's choice for president.

Legacy media is dead. Long live citizen journalism! The US presidential campaign was further proof of what Elon Musk has been repeatedly predicting: citizen journalism is overtaking traditional media. While the winning candidate appeared in several independent podcasts for long conversations and posted himself on social media, the losing candidate gave only a few brief and edited interviews to legacy media and delegated social media posts to a PR team. This wasn't satisfying to many voters. People want to know what their political representatives really think, as human beings, and why they think what they think. Only then will they really trust them. As Elon Musk wrote, “Leaders should post [on 𝕏] directly, not hand the role to intermediaries. That is what works best. Mistakes will be made, but that’s what proves it’s real. People want authenticity.” To a future of citizen journalism and authenticity!
