I’m sure that the people outraged that a black woman is playing Helen of Troy (instead of a Greek or Mediterranean actress) are equally up-in-arms that Odysseus, a Greek King, is being played by a white man from Massachusetts.

everyone say congrats to Dori for learning to stay in her new stroller. Going to the clinic every week by taxi was getting very expensive so it made sense to try this

BREAKING: Israel is dropping bombs on Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut. They are deliberately targeting densely populated neighborhoods. This is what they call a “ceasefire.”

@DoNotWorryPod The ironic part is you are born in the US and live there. These people were born in Lebanon and still live there.

💢 LEBANON | Israel Kills 41, Injures 89 in 24 Hours, Including Women and Children Lebanon’s Health Ministry said at least 41 people were killed and 89 wounded over the past 24 hours, bringing the total since March 2 to more than 2,659 killed and 8,183 injured. 🔸Israeli forces carried out widespread airstrikes and artillery shelling across southern Lebanon near the Israeli border on Friday and Saturday, killing dozens. 🔸At least three were killed in a dawn strike on al-Louaizeh in the Jezzine district, east of the coastal city of Sidon, with additional casualties reported in Shoukin near Nabatieh, where the town’s mayor was among the wounded, according to Al Mayadeen and Lebanon’s National News Agency. 🔸Strikes hit towns across Nabatieh, Tyre (a major coastal city), Bint Jbeil, Marjeyoun, and Hasbaya, all in southern Lebanon along or near the border region. 🔸Israeli forces also demolished a monastery and school run by the Sisters of the Holy Savior in Yaroun, a border village, described by the NNA as one of the region’s most prominent educational institutions. 🔸Israeli forces blocked Red Cross teams from retrieving bodies and evacuating the wounded in Majdal Selm, a town in the Nabatieh district, Al Mayadeen reported. 🔸The military also ordered forced evacuations of nine villages in the same district, killing at least eight people there in fresh strikes on Saturday, according to L’Orient Today. 🔸Press TV Journalist Hadi Hoteit said Israeli forces destroyed a 100-year-old community center in his village of Dweir in southern Lebanon: “We can barely process the amount of terror against our people… The collective memory of a century was erased.” The strikes come despite a “ceasefire” extended on April 24.

The Israeli enemy today destroyed the 100 years old historic religious community center in my village, Dweir. Sayed Moussa AlSader, Sheikh Ragheb Hareb, Sayed Abbas AlMoussawi and many other historic leaders of Lebanon and Lebanese resistance gave speeches in it. The collective memories of all the people for last century were erased. Excuse me for not being active online since yesterday, much is happening, and we can barely process the amount of terror against our people. But nothing will make us surrender. Glory to the martyrs, and to our heroic resistance.

Lebanon stands at a crossroads. Its people have a historic opportunity to reclaim their country and shape their future as a truly sovereign, independent nation.    Direct engagement between Lebanon and Israel, two neighboring countries that should have never been at war, can mark the beginning of a national revival. The extended Cessation of Hostilities, achieved at the personal request of President Trump, has given Lebanon the space and the opportunity to put all of its legitimate demands on the table with the full attention of the United States Government.  A direct meeting between President Aoun and Prime Minister Netanyahu, facilitated by President Trump, would give Lebanon the chance to secure concrete guarantees on full sovereignty, territorial integrity, secure borders, humanitarian and reconstruction support, and the complete restoration of Lebanese state authority over every inch of its territory—guaranteed by the United States.   This is Lebanon’s moment to decide its own destiny, one which belongs to all its people. The United States is ready to stand with Lebanon as it seizes this opportunity with confidence and wisdom. The time for hesitation is over.

Israel killed three Lebanese Civil Defence rescuers during a mission in Majdel Zoun, despite the so called ceasefire. Lebanon’s Civil Defence falls under the Ministry of Interior and is not a politically affiliated Majdel Zoun is not part of the so called “Yellow Line” occupied by Israel. So, what is the justification now?
