(2) Cont. from my last tweet: Her son told my son, “when you die, I get all of your toys.” My boy started having panic attacks at night because he had never thought about dying until this boy said that. He still has panic attacks over the thought of one day dying or his things being taken from him. (We have a strategy in place each time this happens and it always works out okay now) The neighbor boy stole my son’s GPS tracking watch/phone. His mom defended him saying that he walked off with. Texts messages on my son’s watch to the boy prove that it wasn’t just an accident. My boy became very possessive of his belongings because of all of this. And because my son started getting possessive over his things due to this other child’s intrusion, the neighbor mom called my son a Spoiled Brat. She didn’t realize it was the trauma of her own son’s behavior causing this possessiveness. My boy eased up and even asked if I’d buy a second VR so that he has one for when his friends come over. We are adapting.
