Things which went up Gorbagana: A wild Solana fork with $GOR as the gas token! 🦍 What’s Done: @MidTermDev got a localnet validator running, swapped $SOL for $GOR. Forked Solana crates, changed to a new $GOR mint address (bridged from Solana mainnet, not a fresh token). 1B $GOR pre-minted, locked in a bridge program for 1:1 swaps via Pump.fun. Single node setup for max meme vibes, no chain state copy—fresh slate for speed. What’s Next: CLI wallet like Solana’s (check balance, send $GOR, import keypairs). Forking a DEX frontend (Raydium/Meteora, open-source) and rebuilding it. Basic explorer for the chain. docs later via GitBook—code comes first. Wallet browser extension is the tough part, needs work. Run our own indexer for fast go-to-market, no QuickNode dependency. Why Single Node? Keeps it simple, meme-focused, and cheap (full chain state copy is $20k chaos, maybe later). No stake program; all $GOR pre-minted. If traction hits, we’ll add validators, RPCs, and polish. Community Vibe: Team wants code over docs for now—pure degen energy. Horsey’s keen to deploy a dumb app or validator on their kube cluster. Need someone to confirm DEX frontend forks and stub out non-RPC services. Midterm Dev only needs ~100 $GOR for testing (buying on Jupiter).

Localnet RPC service is working as expected now. Typically would use solana explorer & input our localhost to view the chain, but due to the fork no longer using sol111111111.. as the gas token this warrants the need for new explorer & RPC. Is cool to see $GOR burned as gas.
