A genuine question. At 1245 this afternoon the PM told a grieving mother on the anniversary of her son’s death that he would introduce legislation (“before summer recess”) in her son’s name. How is that reconcilable with knowing he was about to call an election?

I don’t want to wade into election speculation but…the Prime Minister told ⁦@FigenMurray⁩ after PMQs today that the Martyn’s Law legislation would definitely be introduced this side of summer recess.

Let’s hope that Martyn’s Law gets mentioned today in the Kings speech. 5 years of incredible hard work and campaigning by Figen, Brendon and Nick to make the world a safer place. You are an awesome team @FigenMurray @MrBrendanCox & Nick Aldworth

Listening to @DocStuartMurray speak on @BBCr4today about the enquiry into the Manchester arena bombing and how he shows such forgiveness to services involved is so powerful, humbling and moving. Such strength of humanity and courage.

The Manchester Inquiry found that Event Healthcare Providers need to be regulated and that the Care Quality Commission is the appropriate to this. Furthermore the Department of Health should give urgent consideration to making this happen.I hope this happens soon @CQCpressoffice

Honestly, it wasn’t a conspiracy theory. It really did happen. Although, according to some, I am an actor put in by the government to make the Arena Attack more plausible bbc.co.uk/news/uk-634126…

Tomorrow is the five year anniversary of the Manchester Arena Attack. Our new report from @survivors_a_t shows that mental health support for terror survivors still has gaping holes in it. Kids were left traumatised by the attack & left on waiting lists 🧵 itv.com/news/2022-05-2…

The state has a particular responsibility to ensure terror attack survivors get proper support. They have been attacked as a proxy for the state and that means the state has additional responsibilities. This is recognised in countries like France and Belgium, but not yet here.

@SiobhanMackenz6 Thank you for sharing your story. Just the kind of thing we have been trying to improve awareness of. We will push the government to acknowledge and adopt our charter and action changes

@DocStuartMurray Thanks for your work on this. I had to source the psychological help for me and my 9yo, even with help from the Manchester Resilience Hub. I only found out about them 7 months after when we had clear symptoms of PTSD. The wait is unacceptable.

Big holes remain in the mental health support which people receive after a terrorist incident and people wait far too long for basic therapies. I am hoping the government adopt the new Victim Charter which SAT have presented to them and action the recommendations
