Heartbreaking to read. This is NOT your fault. And the response comments show how truly valued our amazing members & their EM colleagues are - doing extraordinary work in the most challenging situations to ensure patients get the best care possible #ResuscitateEmergencyCare

As an Emergency Medicine consultant in the NHS, I just want to say, to all of our patients across the UK: I'm sorry. We're really trying, I promise. There's just too much to do. And there are not enough resources in the hospitals or in our communities to satisfy demand.

Can’t wait to take part in the @archiegrampian Battle of the Badges today for @NHSGrampian. Been given the iconic No10 shirt… But who is the most famous 10 of all time? Just Giving Page still open for any last minute donations (link in comments), thank you! @NHSG_RACH

Need some clarity after a case last night in the Paeds ED #toothfairy. If a tooth is lost in an accident, will you still leave a reward in place of the ‘absent’ tooth? And what is the going rate these days? @aberdeenED @NHSG_RACH

@adi_kumar1 You’d just about go apoplectic if you saw what happens in an Emergency Department 24/7!! Constant interruptions and prioritisation - oh and trying to refer to surgery who are scrubbed and can’t take the call!

Surgeons in training - be aware of context switching, attention residue and decision fatigue. Below is a near miss of mine I don't want you to repeat.

People going to North East hospitals because of slips, trips and falls increased by 425% yesterday, according to @NHSGrampian. With icy conditions across much of the region, 84 patients who had fallen were treated by medics on Thursday, compared to 16 on the same day last week.

@RoryTHirst Or just refer direct to definite service and miss out ambulance and ED - trust your judgement and make the call.

GPs / Primary Care HCPs Is it appropriate to send a patient from the surgery home to wait for an ambulance? If safe to travel home, and be alone for the wait surely can go the extra way to ED allowing patient to receive definitive care quicker, and reducing ambulance use?
