Highland Park Serenade by @iseehawksinla and Otis Gibbs’ Wrong Side of Gallatin make nice bookends of a certain type of American landscape.

@punkrockdoll Odd looking. Google thinks it’s a pumpkin but I don’t. It’ll be interesting to see what it becomes.

I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend that they were no longer able to ride the storm out.

Some say that all politics is local.
Others, they prefer the nation state.
No matter what your preference,
And just for future reference:
If you cause shit like this, you’re filled with hate.

Two of our elementary schools were just evacuated due to threats. Both of our colleges have gone virtual this week due to threats. The city just canceled our annual CultureFest because of threats. None of this was happening before Trump and Vance opened their mouths.

@Nerienis @HaroldCarr10 Intent is a very difficult thing to measure. I’d agree displayers often have no intention of escalation to contact. That’s a bluff, as you said. But, by definition, bluffers hide that intent or lack of intent. If u r bluffing when you threaten to beat me, is aggression w/o intent
English

@Nerienis @HaroldCarr10 Displays are action, not a substitute. If there are quanta of aggression (I believe there are), then a display is less aggressive action. I’m not a scholar of war, but I’m pretty sure they use scales of aggression. I’m guessing psych and sociologists do as well.
English

@Nerienis @HaroldCarr10 They hedge by saying “aggressive chasing.” That’s a tautological no-no in my book. You can’t use aggressively to modify the type of chasing when you’re defining aggression.
English

@Nerienis @HaroldCarr10 Ok. Let’s look at the definitions in the article. Aggressive displays involve no contact. But chasing is actual aggression even though there is no contact. Hmmm. (More on this in a few. Dog is aggressively demanding a walk)
