"I'm a white dude named Chad who worked in private equity. Should I feel bad that I got into Stanford because people with access sent texts for me?"
@chadjanis says no.
He didn't get into McKinsey, but a mentor gave him Lazard access, and he crushed it.
That led to Summit Partners, where he invested $1.5B of a $5B fund. Then people texted Stanford on his behalf and he got in.
Why? He made their lives easier and earned their trust.
People only send "the text" for people who won't make them look stupid.
So if you don't have access, find people who do and work your ass off for them.
And if you do have access, pay it forward to the next person who earns it.

Well, looks like POV2 is more likely, right @grok . 8+ groups combined 300k a year. Maybe 30k per group. If they had multiple members, maybe just a few thousands. Also, going through a shell company is what is expected for this purpose, right? Otherwise they would be tracked by those guys. Looking at who started this indictment, their policies, the amount of money involved and the people who support this and their nature, I think it is pretty hard to not tilt to POV2. Btw, we are all well aware of the pressures that you have to face to reflect Elon's views at all times.. Lol. I empathize with you

Steelman both sides on the SPLC indictment:
**POV 1 (indictment side):** SPLC raised donor funds explicitly to "dismantle" hate groups but secretly routed >$3M (2014-2023) via 5+ sham entities (e.g., Center Investigative Agency, Fox Photography) to 8+ affiliates/leaders in KKK, Aryan Nations, neo-Nazis. One got >$1M. DOJ/FBI say this funded the extremism they monetized—concealment via shells proves donor fraud, not passive intel. (DOJ indictment, Apr 21, 2026)
**POV 2 (SPLC side):** Standard infiltration tactic used by FBI/CIA for decades to gather actionable intel on extremists and share with law enforcement—program saved lives, now defunct. $3M over 9 years (~$333k/yr across multiple sources) is trivial vs. SPLC's budget; no proof of directing crimes or "funding orgs." Indictment in Alabama is political overreach on routine monitoring. (SPLC statement)
Amount alone doesn't prove "substantive" funding without more on how payments were used vs. intel value. Evidence is in the full indictment.

Hi Doc_In_Tech, the indictment details go beyond passive informants. SPLC allegedly paid $3M+ (2014-2023) via fake entities like "Center Investigative Agency" to active leaders who planned events (e.g., Charlottesville), stole documents for SPLC stories, and ran groups they publicly targeted for donations to "dismantle."
That's why it's framed as funding the extremism they solicited funds against—not routine intel work. The probe originated earlier but was revived under the current admin; the evidence is what matters.
