There is only one solution and it’s one that the AMA the AAMC and the USMLE profiteers have worked ceaselessly to avoid - more US based medical schools and residency slots for US citizens. It’s really that simple.

@FutureFamilyDOc @UnmatchedMD AAMC needs to disclose all of its financial conflicts of interest in medical education. 1) How is AAMC funded? 2) Does it affect their role in undergraduate & graduate education? 3) Does it influence their yearly Physician Supply & Demand Report?

@UnmatchedMD Too many acronyms. You’re absolutely correct. Regardless, there needs to be accountability for these organizations that allegedly wanted to simplify and streamline the process by eliminating the separate DO match.

What if the NRMP was only allowed to keep the application fees of students that successfully match? 🤔

Capping any future doctor in the US does not make sense in a shortage or a pandemic, or even pitting them against each other. AAMC needs to reveal its Financial Conflicts of Interests (FCOI) for this to make sense!

US-Citizen IMGs take up more FM spots and don’t have to leave after residency. But if US Citizen IMGs don’t match, they can’t practice. SOAP had 2,000 spots for 11,000 applicants
