Some professional news - being on the faculty at @UMich, I have learned from great students, colleagues, and mentors. Next year, I’ll be joining @UCSanDiego as the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Chancellor’s Endowed Chair of Digital Health Innovation and Chief AI Officer for @UCSDHealth.

Gave a talk at Mount Auburn hospital on strategies to slow progression of CKD in T2D. Guideline-directed medical therapy works: RAS inhibitors, SGLT2i, nsMRA and GLPRA1.

Workshop 1 of GCSRT in Boston. Started this week. Terrific group of students from 36 different countries.

The final workshop for the Portugal CSRT program. With Finnian Mc Causland, Lino Goncalves, Emilia Monteiro at NOVA medical school in Lisbon. We recognized the graduating 2020 and 2021 class of PTCSRT that was impacted by COVID. Wonderful set of memories over 12 years!

Harvard Medical School provides training to ~1600 smart healthcare professionals (mostly doctors) in Egypt. Training programs include clinical research, leadership, & Training to Teach. Meeting His Excellency Prof Khaled in Cairo and thanking him for his leadership and support.

The weather for the Clambake in Osterville Cape Cod was superb. MMSCI, MCSO and MHQS students from all over the world participated!

Today Jardiance was named as one of the meds that Medicare will try to negotiate a lower price on. A pity that this couldn’t come earlier as SGLT2 inhibitors are going to become generic on the next couple of years. recent article by me on the role of SGLT2 inhibitors in CKD.

Orientation for new students for the 2-year Master’s in Clinical Investigation at HMS (MMSCI). This year we have a class size of 35 students from all over the world. Wonderful group. Looking forward to working with them and being a part of their success.
