Got some DM's on Patreon link (a way to support our mental health mission) it allows you to make a one time donation or support monthly. After production cost, $ is donated for pro bono counseling. Thanks to those who asked, I hate stuff like this! patreon.com/amywatsonautho…

A long time ago someone said to me "healing is a choice" and they gave me a book by the same name. I think I threw it across the room to be honest with you. I hated the sentiment and it didn't sit well with me. That is because it's true. wednesdayswithwatson.com

One day, all of the sad things will become untrue. Until then, we can live in the Hope of spring!

In a survivor’s healing, victims of abuse need to tell their story. They may be afraid, slow to speak, or uncertain of their words. But as we listen and bear witness to their trauma, we grant them dignity, safety, and comfort. Doing so is a reversal of the experience of trauma.

Calling a place a “house of God” doesn’t make it a sanctuary. Many carry heavy burdens from lies and wounds that have come from those who claim that they are part of the household of God. #WhentheChurchHarmsGodsPeople

A repentant heart shows empathy for those who have been wronged and damaged by my sin; an awareness that the sin is against the goodness and holiness of God, not merely a behavioral aberration that got me in trouble. A repentant heart desires to make restitution.

No matter the words used to describe it, a system is ungodly if it is not governed by truth and love. ANYTHING done in the name of God that does not bear His character throughout is actually not of Him.

Care, kindness, protection, and dignity are to be the elements that contain a victim’s talk, tears, and time. ALWAYS.

Long Journey. 2025 didn’t start the way I planned, but God’s plan was already in motion. From the very beginning of this season of life, He covered me, guided me, and carried my family through moments we couldn’t have handled on our own. Watching my son Wesley walk through a battle no parent expects shifted my heart, my priorities, and my purpose. This season, football became more than a game, it became a place where God allowed me to refocus, stay disciplined, and remain present. Every snap, every rep, every challenge was an opportunity to trust Him deeper. When life felt heavy, He gave me strength. When the path felt unclear, He gave me direction. When I felt weak, He reminded me where my help comes from. The 2025 season with the @Jaguars was a journey of growth, faith, and perseverance. Not just on the field, but in life. God kept showing up in big and small ways, pouring out blessings even in the middle of adversity. And I know He’s not finished yet. We’ve come a long way, but the journey continues. I’m grateful for where we are, trusting God for where we’re going, and walking forward with faith knowing His promises never fail. All glory to Him, for what He’s done, what He’s doing, and what He’s about to do.

It’s crazy what sends people into a tizzy these days. This time all it took was a little kindness from Jacksonville Free Press’ Lynn Jones. I graduated from the Manship school of Mass Communications, but clearly I don’t understand journalism. I get it. Everyone needs to give their opinion on everything these days, but it was ok to sit this one out. Maybe if she asked a dumb question, or pitted a young player against his coach she’d be applauded… or maybe society just can’t stand to see good people do nice things. @ThePivot Clips on @youtube. #ThePivot #LynnJones #LiamCoen #JacksonvilleJaguars #Podcasts

If voices are not heard or are ignored, they often fall silent, either under duress or due to hopelessness. The silence of leadership and the denial of the abuse further silences victims, damages faith, and destroys hope.

The silence about wrongdoing in our religious institutions can be rationalized and affirmed as a desire to protect the name of God. Such harmful rhetoric from leadership fosters interior silence in the victims and in the followers.
