Some of you know I was wanting to do a bigger project for this, that sort of fell through with the whims of local gen, but I am slowly figuring it out! I might take another milestone to get it fine-tuned for my idea though, and I got two exams every week for the next month so. That's a lot. I was thinking today about how short my days feel and how little time it feels like I have, but I am trying to spend it well. I was thinking about a friend, among a few, that killed themselves years ago so I wanted to take this chance to really drive home the idea that you are all loved, worth something, and valuable. I know someone will read this and think "Well sure, but not me" yes you, mofo. If none of us are special enough to be flawless and happy all the time, none of us are special enough to not deserve love and support too.

Gamedev time! I want to try something a little different today. This time, I want to talk about what my average week looks like while developing Algorithm of Attraction as a solo developer. On average, I work around 66 hours per week, usually close to 10 hours per day. The time is roughly divided like this: 🎮 Game development: 25 hours ✍️ Story writing: 15 hours 📢 Marketing / social media: 10 hours 💼 Secondary job: 10 hours 🎓 Third job: 6 hours Making a game alone is not just programming. It is design, writing, testing, marketing, asset management, community building, and a lot of problem-solving. I’ll explain each part in the thread below. #indiedev #gamedev

@DoctorInsain I already scaled it down because I needed to, and I don't want to do it again... I love the game concept, the characters, the stories, and pretty much everything that I'm currently building. I work a lot, that's true, but if that's what is necessary to make it work, I will do it.

I understand this pretty well. I have someone who owes me a lot of money, and if they pay me, my project will move forward a lot more easily. Sadly enough, that isn't happening. I'm kind of living on the bare minimum while doing this project right now and working really hard, but I know that is something difficult and not very healthy to do either. So I understand why you decided to go simpler. It sucks that it's not how you first envisioned it, but if you can make it a reality, that will be more important in the long run.

@AlgoAttraction Let's just say a friend royally screwed over my finances and while he's working on paying me back (Slower than I'd like) I had to give up making my idea into a game and now that I'm in a stable enough situation to work on it again, decided to go simpler and rework to web novel
