Project Hail Mary is a fun, optimistic sci-fi adventure that will have audiences in awe. Ryan Gosling is excellent, and the sheer spectacle of the film is incredible. This is a must-see, preferably on the biggest screen possible. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/project-h…

The Bride! is brimming with ambition and good ideas, but it ends up being too scattered and underdeveloped to make a coherent statement. There is at least a good Jessie Buckley performance at its center, but the film as a whole is a mess. Full Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/the-bride…

Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie is one of those films that make you ask “How did they do that?” many times while watching it. It is absolutely incredible and undoubtedly one of the best comedies of the decade. Go see it immediately. Full review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/nirvanna-…

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is a wild, often silly adventure film that doubles as a condemnation of AI. Despite some tonal issues here and there, the film is quite entertaining and offers up a timely message that comes across loud and clear. Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/good-luck…

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is brutal and exhilarating, making for the first great film of 2026. With superb performances from Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell and excellent direction from Nia DaCosta, my expectations were greatly exceeded. Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/28-years-…

Marty Supreme is phenomenal, and is undoubtedly Timothée Chalamet’s finest hour. It is tense, captivating, and absolutely electric, making for one of the best films of the year. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/marty-sup…

Wake Up Dead Man is yet another excellent entry in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series and is both a great whodunit and a strong commentary on modern religion. Full review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/wake-up-d…

Wicked: For Good is a step down from the first film, but it is still quite entertaining. If nothing else, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are excellent, and the film still has some magical moments scattered throughout. Full Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/wicked-fo…

The Running Man has some interesting ideas and thrilling action sequences, but it suffers from an inconsistent tone and lack of depth. It’s definitely a mixed bag, but there are some bursts of fun amidst its messiness. Full Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/the-runni…

Die My Love is yet another bold, uncompromising vision from Lynne Ramsay, and features a career-best performance from Jennifer Lawrence. It might leave some frustrated or perplexed, but it hit me pretty hard. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/die-my-lo…

Bugonia is a pitch black comedy and a paranoid thriller all in one, featuring that distinct bleakness that only Yorgos Lanthimos can provide. Some may leave feeling alienated, but longtime Lanthimos fans will undoubtedly be pleased. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/bugonia-a…

I Wish You All the Best has its heart in the right place, but mainly just feels like a run-of-the-mill teen drama. I can appreciate what it’s going for, but it has the vibes of an after-school special and feels a tad artificial. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/i-wish-yo…

Ballad of a Small Player looks good, but has hardly any heart or depth to back it up. Despite its visuals and a great Colin Farrell performance, this film is a mess and largely feels empty. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/ballad-of…

Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere does its best to be an insightful portrait of The Boss, but plays things too safe. At the very least, it’s worth watching for Jeremy Allen White’s performance, but the rest is pretty much what you’d expect. My review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/springste…

Anniversary may not be the sharpest in its political commentary, but it still gets some good digs in. It does have a tremendous ensemble cast, though, and is a rather engaging blend of family dramas and political thrillers. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/anniversa…

After the Hunt wants to be a provocative commentary on a number of topics, but it doesn’t exactly have much to say. Not even its talented cast can fully save it, and it ends up being little more than a confused collection of ideas. Check out my review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/after-the…

Black Phone 2 improves upon its predecessor by leaning into its supernatural elements and evoking slasher films of the 80s. It does get a bit shaky when examined closely, but it is still a good sequel that works far better than it should. Full Review: doctorpopcorn.net/post/black-pho…
