It really sucks that I’ve done everything “right” to mitigate and I still ended up catching Covid. I can’t even think of a slip up where it happened. It’s just that virulent that unless you don’t leave your house the tiniest window of opportunity will occur. So unsustainable

It just proves public health can’t be done alone. One way masking does a LOT but it’s not full proof

I have no regrets with masking and will continue to do so. I believe it had to be a freak fomite occurrence from a coworker coming in positive without a care in the world. Almost 4 years into the pandemic and this is my first time? Pretty good tbh

My vaccine waking up to my body currently being Covid invaded

I’m envisioning my XBB vaccine waking up in the next day or two, seeing covi is in the house, and promptly kicking it out. Or at least I’m wishfully thinking this 😅 Pulse ox has been great and no wheezing thank godddd The phlegm though. The phlegm.

Did I tell you it’s also advisement week? So I’ve had emails coming in with my response being:

I am made of snot. It’s taking over my body basically. I am just phlegm. But hey no fever today 🙌🏻

@fitkix @Kidsdoc1Rick This literally happened to me too! And I am so careful and always wear an n95 so it had to be like a freak set of circumstances. So angry about it

No one in the busy pharmacy was wearing any face protection, a few in the dentist’s office were but not all and for those parents who just downright refuse to protect others I of course will see their kids. So I caught a non covid illness-the first in 3 yrs- and I am relieved.

Do you know how much of a slap in the face it is to share ten separate stories of people from your community passing from a virus still killing 1,000 a week and to not even have your message acknowledged in the response? Silence would have been better than “we have the tools” bs

If Biden wanted my vote he would have written a personalized response to ten different letters I sent him earlier this year about people I knew who had passed from Covid, asking for a better response and a National Covid Memorial. I got a form letter.

Soooo three days after my novavax I am testing positive for Covid 😭 I literally don’t go anywhere without an n95 firmly on my face so idk how it’s possible. Getting pax and not leaving bed for the foreseeable future

@JohnLadd484689 I tested the morning of too just to make sure I was neg. Perfect storm/timing I guess.

@DoctoralBarbie You may have been exposed just before your Novavax shot. Maybe exposed when you went out to get it? The general medical view is that it takes 1-2 weeks for the body to build immunity with max immunity a bit later regardless of which covid vaccine you got.

Okay 48 hours out. Had a fever all night but not as bad as prior doses. Anyone develop a cough? I actually tested to make sure I wasn’t positive because it felt like an unusual side effect.

Got Novavax today at Costco 🥂 Was worried about the pinch after talking to my mom but I didn’t feel a thing. Arm’s a bit sore and I’m a little tired 3 hours later but here’s to hoping I have a better time with it than the others.
