Today in 2002: Odalis Pérez became the first pitcher since 1983 (Bob Welch) to hit a homer for the game's only run and threw 8 shutout innings. Éric Gagné then struck out the side for his 1st of a record 84 straight saves in a 1-0 @Dodgers win over Arizona. (🎙️@TheVinScully)
