There’s nothing wrong with watching games on YouTube. As long as you don’t claim to be a fan. You don’t get to be a fan of something due to pity for your financial situation. We’re not creating fandom equity. I’ve been on the poorer side my whole life, any game I’ve watched on YouTube I don’t claim to be a fan of. To be a fan of a book, you have to read it. To be a fan of a movie, you have to watch it. To be a fan of a game, you have to play it.

@sarunomokusei @taeeeee1xx @KaiKai2492 You're comparing a synopsis to someone watching the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME they just didn't physically play it. The only thing they have in common is they are different experiences. The sheer volume of what they've consumed varies greatly.

The truth is nobody actually cares how people enjoy something. If you want to just watch a game on YT, go for it. But you can't come in and join a community for a piece of art you haven't experienced and expect people to take you seriously. People just don't like larpers, people who try to fit into a crowd without ACTUALLY engaging with what the community is based around. Being poor doesn't change that. Like people are really arguing for fandom equity it's insane. People keep using the gatekeeping false flag when it's literally the opposite of gatekeeping. We are TELLING YOU to do the bare minimum and engage with the art. But you're standing outside the wide open gate and refusing to walk through it.
