The teamsheet in the 2021 alone means, yes, he should. City were the best team in Europe from 2021 until probably 2024, during which time there were four finals, they played in two, won one. Madrid the only multiple winners during Guardiola's City tenure. It's hard to win.

When City were 3-0 down to Liverpool, Guardiola played a back three of Walker, Otamendi and Laporte, Fernandinho in front and basically a staggered front six Khusanov, Dias and Guehi mean he could do something similar tomorrow. youtube.com/watch?v=MHj-7P…

@clpblue1 Worked incredibly well for 45 minutes, after which point they should have been 2-0 up but for having a perfectly good goal ruled out. Completely and totally dominant up until the Sane disallowed goal. Got them as close as they were ever likely to get in those circumstances.

@HWestwoodP Ha, yeah fair. A lot of goal threat in it, though. And I think the lack of creativity behind them at the weekend was the main issue. Cherki playing in those pockets where Semenyo kept popping up feels like it would solve a lot.

One issue with this massive player turnover right now is so many players battling for one or two start spots. When fit, Rodri, Bernardo, O'Reilly, Haaland and Semenyo have felt locked in since mid-Jan Not an ideal situation for Cherki, Foden, Reijnders, Marmoush, Savinho, Doku.

City got out of their knack for 2-3 really good signings every year post-treble. Summer 2023, 2024 both poor. End of cycle. Marmoush, Nico, Khusanov, Donnarumma, Ait-Nouri, Reijnders, Cherki, Donnarumma, Trafford, Semenyo, Guehi all in since last Jan. Start of cycle.
