People help to repair damaged wall at #Southport Mosque after violence last night. Latest in @BBCNWT at 1.30

@Biolard Fair comment. I think the answer perhaps lies more in protest/unions/striking rather than tweets about how terrible Europeans are because US govt cares more about profits than people. That was my main point but perhaps I didn’t make that clear character limit poses a challenge.

@DomHayhurst3 the practice of expecting a tip will continue until things are changed because SERVERS NEED MONEY TO LIVE. are they supposed to just not expect tips in hopes that dying of starvation will convince their bosses to pay them more?
English

@Biolard @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt I actually didn’t say I refused to tip - I’ve simply stated I think the practice of expecting a tip means the onus is firstly put on the customer, so why would the business owner ever need to make a change and increase wages when people all expect the customers to do it?
English

@DomHayhurst3 @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt and again I'll say: we're mad at both. the laws are bad. the system is bad. people have been pushing to change things since before I was even alive. none of that justifies refusing to tip
English

@Biolard @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt Again, I still think you’re mad at the wrong people overall. There are very few industries where the customers are expected to prop up employees wages above and beyond an agreed cost in a bill/invoice. Getting mad at customers means the real problem will never get solved.
English

@DomHayhurst3 @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt "sure, you rely entirely on tips to get a livable wage, but that's your fault for being born into a country with shit labor laws, so I'm fully justified in not paying you the money you're owed"
English

@Biolard @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt Paying a fair wage negates the need to tip as a means for waiting staff to survive. I don’t think there should be any expectation to pay more than what is on the bill - it should simply be a gesture of goodwill for an exceptional service. Put it on the bill if it’s expected.
English

@DomHayhurst3 @pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt we're mad about both. bosses being shit doesn't justify not tipping
English

@pandasteve93 @zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt If you can’t afford to pay staff a fair wage, don’t setup a business. You’re mad at the wrong people.
English

@zzeireauxffxx @Divinadecampo @madison_tayt If you can't afford the tip, stay HOME in the US. Eat at Mcdonalds, no tips ther. If you are going to go to an upscale restaurant when you know the servers depend on tips for wages, you better have that 20% on hand.

Labour's Lucy Powell struggles to tell me anything that's exciting about Keir Starmer, as voters size him up as a potential PM.

@rstorry @Art93319672 @BBCNews It’s still a very legitimate way to send a message to conservative MPs that you disapprove of their handling of partygate/cost of living crisis etc.

@StewartFlemin12 @Kristian7Ross @J0rddyy @BBCSport He’d literally just passed the ball to sexton… go watch it again.
