@BouafifNour I don't understand how people judge his performance so poorly. This is his first season in a new country, new league. I think he exceeded expectation and would only improve in year 2. How many of our future stars had slow years? Many. Neymar for example.

I’m not really in favor of keeping Rashford, but it’s also a bit harsh to say this wasn’t a successful loan. For me, a successful loan isn’t just about whether you keep the player, it’s about whether he actually helped the team during his time here. And I think Rashford did. In a season where Raphinha was constantly dealing with injuries, he gave us real output and some important goals and assists. That alone makes it a successful loan in my eyes, even if we don’t keep him.

It’s interesting because Ansu has adapted his game into something very close to the profile we’re chasing at striker. He’s associative, comfortable between the lines, and a distinct scoring threat. Why not keep him around as a squad player, at least?

@BouafifNour Kounde and Balde. They looked like they were ready to take the next step at the end of last season. Unfortunately it looks like they took a step backward.

A number of our players have underperformed this season compared to last year whether due to injuries, poor form, or other factors. But if you had to pick one, who would you say has underperformed the most?

@NealGardner_ Exactly. Couldn't agree more. If we can criticize Flick for one thing it's his rotations of players. No reason for Lamine and Pedri to be out there for that long on the weekend. But this has been a trend of flicks. Sometimes against his own will we have to take Lamine out.

Having watched how we ran out of steam in that second half last night, it becomes even more baffling to me that both Pedri and Lamine essentially played the entire game vs Espanyol.

@IvarTalksBarca You have Joan Garcia in goal. You allow Sorloth to go 1v1! Especially with Kounde tracking. No need to take him down.

We don’t need the best defenders in the world, we just need defenders that understand it’s better to allow a 1v1 with the goalkeeper than to take a red card. I don’t know if it’s different for those playing, but I am literally screaming to just let them run through on goal. How hard can it be…

@BouafifNour No you can't I agree. However he has to be better in his managing of minutes. There should be no reason Lamine plays 90 on the weekend. It's hard to judge the impact of his subs today because unfortunately the red came not long after.

I understand that people get emotional after this cruel eliminations but guys can we be a little bit realistic here, you really can’t put blame on Flick for this tie. He outcoached Simeone in the first leg, even while playing an entire half with 10 men. And in the second leg, where do you even start? Flick basically set the team up for a 4–1 or 5–1 win in the first half, the game should’ve been over from there, but it’s not his fault the players couldn’t finish their chances. Maybe the second-half subs weren’t perfect, especially taking Ferran off, but once the red card happened, I don’t think it would’ve changed much anyway. Eric completely killed our chances there. And even after that, Flick still tried to find solutions, pushing Araújo up as a second striker and shifting Roony to the right with Lamine moving central. Those changes got us that last chance for Araujo, and yet again, we missed an easy opportunity. Seriously, what more is he supposed to do, go out there and score himself?

@NealGardner_ I love Flick. However one thing he has to improve on is managing minutes. There was no need for Lamine to play 90 on the weekend. Also you bench Lewandowski instead of Ferran. If you plan on starting Ferran you do the opposite.

One sentence for Barça in the CL these past two seasons? Flatters to deceive. Produce some of the best football in the tournament, eye candy for the neutrals, get ourselves into positions of power, only to lose it all - often by our own doing. Over and over again.

@NealGardner_ As a Barca fan I think the key is to take any news released after a big defeat as fake news. Way too many agendas, and nonsense is pushed directly after a big loss to destabilize the team.

I have no idea how reliable this is, but regardless, won’t be losing any sleep over the deal. If we can get him at the right price, I’m all for it. If not, there’s no shortage of really good CBs on the market.
