The first of our #CoopHeroes is Ria Robinson – a drummer, music teacher and proud member of @TheForum_Music in Darlington – a community-owned gig venue and much-loved local hub using music to enrich lives. 🎶 Ria’s life was changed when The Forum visited her school to offer music lessons. She took up the drums and it soon became her second home – a place of refuge and safety during tough times when she was bullied at school and found it difficult to fit in. 🤝 Now 21, thanks to the nurture, friendships and community she found at The Forum, Ria is flourishing. She gained a music degree and runs The Forum’s music school, where she teaches drums. And she’s doing an apprenticeship in content creation there too. 🦸‍♀️ Ria’s using her talents to inspire the next generation, promote youth engagement and give back to the place that helped shape her. 🔉 “Without The Forum I wouldn’t be the person I am today,” she said. “I’d have been lost without it.
