#RSCPMGPoster #PMG167 Excited to share my first scientific poster with everyone today! Less results here than I would like but hopefully you can all see the concepts we are working on and stay tuned for some exciting work from us in the future :) @TimEasun

@rosie_j_young @TimEasun Hello Rosemary! With these structures we haven't been able to get single crystal structures, and the inherent disorder with these systems that you alluded to means we may never get any. I'm remaining hopeful that one day we will get some suitable crystals for SCXRD :) Thanks!

@DomWard3 @TimEasun Hi Dom, you work looks very cool! Are you able to get single crystal structures at all of your MOF after the photo-isomerisation? I know this is tricky with UiO-67...

@MattAddicoat @TimEasun Interesting suggestion and definitely something to chat about with my more computationally adept coworkers. Also a learning opportunity for me! Thanks!

@DomWard3 @TimEasun Hi Dom, I could even suggest a small modelling study, where you rotate the pillar, and compare the pore / window volumes vs. energy. Energy would give you the barrier to rotation...

@MattAddicoat @TimEasun Your suggestion may be an explanation for this!! Thanks for the question and for giving me something to think about! :)

@MattAddicoat @TimEasun Hey Matt! As of yet we are in the synthesis and characterisation stage and have only just begun testing the materials applications. Some problems that we experienced before lockdown were unexplained and we had some difficulty with some larger guests...

@rahul343324 @TimEasun Hey Rahul! Dative post synthetic modification is the addition of functionality onto a MOF by attaching a molecule directly to the metal node after synthesis, usually COOH-Metal. A good review on the topic by Seth Cohen can be found here: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/cr… Thanks :)

@JCorn360 @TimEasun Hey Joel! We are using a variety of photoactive ligands with vastly differing structures!

@TimJohnsonChem @RSC_PorMat @TimEasun 2) Using rigid linkers and introducing ligands via psm will hopefully keep the framework shape from changing too much and maintain integrity in a MMM. Great question thanks!

@TimJohnsonChem @RSC_PorMat @TimEasun Hey Tim! 1) Yep you hit it on the head! The idea is exploitation of vastly different sterics and electronics between forms to gate the pores of the framework when irradiated.
