@CFDevelop When I started checking fact checking what the AIs were telling me. Turns out, hallucinations are still a thing.

When was the last time you Googled something you wanted to understand on a deeper level instead of using AI?

LLMs are like Japanese chefs knives. In the hands of a skilled chef with great hand eye co-ordination, you get sashimi that is edible art. In the hands of someone who hasn't practiced, who lacks judgement, you wind up with a trip to hospital emergency.

The single most important thing I have learned about software development over my career is that if you do not aggressively fight complexity, it will eat you alive.

Well, here we go again github.com/flutter/flutte… Bit frustrating though that instead of looking for solution I'm struggling to even convince people that there is a problem. Does no googler in the #Flutter team have a Windows display with 150% scaling?

@CFDevelop This has been true longer than I have been alive. The primary upside of software is that it is infinitely malleable. The primary downside of software is the same.

I saw a LinkedIn post about how a lot of non tech founders lose their life savings or go bankrupt building an app. And often, they don't even get a working app at the end. How is this possible in 2024? Building software really isn't that hard. We just make it hard with bullshit

Animating a circle inside another circle in #FlutterDev and #SwiftUI for fun. SwiftUI's withAnimation is definitely a lot simpler than AnimationController in Flutter.

Big Tech broke CS graduates. Just graduated? Grind leetcode! Actively for new job? Grind leetcode! Passively looking? Grind leetcode! Leetcode and system design is all they talk about. No mention of the product, users, or industries. Just leetcode. It’s really sad.

@carlfish I think LLMs are changing a bunch of things. We have a new definition for the word “slop” for starters.

@luke_pighetti Given the number of teams that have refused to update to current stable, the thought of teams moving to shipping with Flutter master (who aren't named Google) would be impressive. If macros gets us to that world, I'll be doubly impressed.

Dart macros are said to be highly experimental, but I suspect so many people will start building new apps on “master” branch (neckbeard “main”), that removing them will be nearly impossible.

@luke_pighetti In the long run Google will be the king maker, I find it hard to believe that they'll choose another company's product over their own.
