Comparing Matheus Fernandes to Alex Scott isn't the point paying £80m for a player from a relegated side is just bad business. Just because we spent over £120m on Mbeumo and Cunha last season doesn't mean we have infinite PSR headroom to blindly throw £130m+ on Fernandes and Scott combined. The market is crazy, but INEOS shouldn't cave to it. Spending that much upfront completely paralyzes our budget for a world class center back, Left wing and striker. There is a line between paying for quality and getting fleeced.

Getting Éderson and Fernandes for £100m is by far a better deal than spending £100-£120m on only Anderson. Top it off with someone like Tonali, BALEBA or someone else & it’s a proper midfield rebuild.
