If next season the Lakers are the 1st seed in the West and Luka averages 33-9-9 on 60% TS, but the Spurs are 3rd, yet Wembanyama averages one more block, the media will say “we’ve never seen anything like it” and they’ll have him ahead of Luka in MVP. They’re moving goalposts every season. We’ve seen giving it to Jokić on a 6th seed (due to “historic stats”) while Mavs were 3rd, the season later suddenly seeding was important again and Luka’s historic stats didn’t matter, and they gave it to Jokić again. The whole MVP voting needs a reform and most of the current media need their votes revoked. It’s become an absolute joke and makes the NBA not enjoyable anymore.

@Roverboby_2 Efficiency matters. He’s taken 203 more FGs and 3 more minutes per game than Shai. Luka had empty stats in losses for majority of the season. He’s been playing more efficient as of late that’s why I said lately. Shai stats would be even better if he didn’t sit out 21 4th quarters

Everything is contextual though, OKC has been by far the best team in the NBA, outside of Jdub I just don’t think anyone else has missed significant time to hurt OKC overall. Topic alone accounts for a good portion of those games.
