I think the AliBaba investment gives him valuable insight into systems and design that can transfer to his US based e commerce platform with a potential EBay acquisition. Having utilized Chinese E-commerce significantly through my previous nutritional supplement business I can tell you that they are considerably more advanced in terms of optimizing the customer experience, live customer chat to secure a sale and / or resolve an issue etc…I believe Ryan’s been carefully analyzing Ali Baba, TMall etc. to implement anything and everything that may provide the slightest advantage over Amazon whose sole moat at this point is distribution. I can also see some kind of cross border partnership with Ali Baba / China that Trump would absolutely love to take credit for which could partially explain RC’s meeting prior to inauguration. All in all, exciting times.

My opinion Ryan is cooking something up big behind the scenes with Ali baba. In one of his recent interviews the interviewer had asked about his position in Alibaba and RC looked puzzled and told him we said we aren’t going to talk about that. Could Alibaba be one of the major reveals? Let me know if you remember that in the interview he gave. I think it was with cnbc if I’m remembering correctly.
