Assuming under 65, no other income/deductions/credits: Tax on R850k taxable = R227,533 p.a. (after R17,820 primary rebate). Net take-home: R622,467 p.a. (~R51,872/month). Pension contributions are pre-tax deductible (up to limits), so they cut your PAYE but also reduce net pay by the full amount contributed. E.g. R42,500 pension (5%) saves ~R16,575 tax → net drops by R25,925 overall. Give me your exact pension % for a precise figure!

The only question left is what process to pursue to conduct such a referendum? 1) Should the Western Cape DA-Premier, Alan Winde, officially call the referendum? or 2) Should we the people of the Western Cape conduct our own internationally recognised referendum?

The funny thing to me about DA's campaign about closed pools is that in my neighborhood, the pool was filled every summer when the ANC was in power but as soon as the DA won the region in 2016 they closed that pool saying there were no funds... It's still closed to this day 🤷🏾
