What can we learn from this? We don’t need years-long consultation processes before initial rapid deployment of lanes. Get the cheap, quick, win. Prove the usage, then adjust and harden the infrastructure when there is a chance to bundle it with other road works. Repeat.

Last Thursday, a 24-year-old woman was killed by the driver of a large truck while trying to maneuver around a blocked bike lane. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the fifth cyclist fatality this year.
