@notgaetti Throughout his career Ruth led league in slugging 13 times and HRs 12 times. Gehrig led the league in slugging 2 times and HRs 3 times.

I know this sounds crazy, but still, somehow, not enough people talk about Ruth & Gehrig hitting back-to-back in the same lineup for years. Like, on any given day, either one of them could be considered the greatest hitter that ever lived. The fact that they coexisted is nuts.

@notgaetti In the 10 full seasons they played together (Gehrig played a total of 23 games 1923-24), they combined to produce 13 seasons of 40-plus homers and 17 seasons of at least 30 homers. For those 12 years combined, Ruth and Gehrig hit 859 home runs.
